Umesh Chowdhury of Titagarh Wagons Become CII – East Chairman

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata, 10th March, 2017: CII Eastern Region gets a new chairman in the name of Mr. Umesh Chowdhury. This has been stated in a press statement from the CII Easter Region. Mr. Chowdhury is the vice-chairman and managing director, Titagarh Wagons Limited. On the other hand Mr. Jagi Mangat Panda, Managing Director of Ortel Communications Limited, becomes the Deputy Chairperson.
The formal announcement of the names happened in the first meeting of the new body formed for the year 2017-18 held today in Taj Bengal, Kolkata. As far as the company headed by Mr. Chowdhury is concerned, Titagarh Wagons Limited is one of the largest wagon manufacturing companies in India headquartered in Kolkata. It also has a unit in France. Mr. Chowdhury is also the past Chairman of Bengal State Council of CII. Mr. Panda has been the Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Bengal since January 2011 and has recently been awarded Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, one of the highest French civilian orders.
